MOOSE, Wyo. (TCD) -- The FBI’s Denver division announced Sunday that remains "consistent" with the description of Gabrielle "Gabby" Petito have been discovered in Bridger-Teton National Forest.
According to a statement released Sunday, officials are still working on a full forensic identification and determining a cause of death. The Associated Press reports FBI Supervisory Special Agent Charles Jones said in a press conference, "Full forensic identification has not been completed to confirm 100 percent that we found Gabby, but her family has been notified of this discovery."
Gabby’s father Joseph Petito tweeted an image of the 22-year-old woman standing in front of a street art painting of wings. He wrote, "She touched the world," and added a broken heart emoji.
Gabby was reported missing to the Suffolk County Police Department in New York on September 11. She and her fiancé Brian Laundrie were on a road trip across the country in their van and made stops in several national parks along the way. She last spoke with her mother Nichole Schmidt on August 25, according to WFLA-TV. Schmidt received a text from Gabby on August 30, but she told WFLA, "I don’t know if that was her texting me or not."

The North Port Police Department in Florida announced September 15 that they located the van at Laundrie’s parents' residence on September 11. Laundrie had reportedly been at home with his parents since September 1. The North Port Police Department named him a person of interest in the case.
On Friday, Laundrie’s family told the police and FBI they had not seen Laundrie since September 14. North Port Police conducted a search at Carlton Reserve near North Port because he was last seen going for a hike there. WFLA reports authorities are not planning on continuing to search the reserve for Laundrie.
On Monday, the FBI's Tampa bureau announced they were executing a search warrant at the Laundrie residence.

KSTU-TV reports Laundrie and Petito got into an argument August 12 in Moab, Utah, and local police officers responded to the scene. Officers described it in a report as "more accurately as a mental/emotional health 'break' than a domestic assault."
The argument occurred days before newlyweds Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner were found shot to death at their campsite in Moab. The Grand County Sheriff’s Office said September 16 they were "actively looking into any connection" between the double homicide and Petito’s disappearance.
On Friday, however, the Grand County Sheriff's Office announced, "It has been determined that the Gabby Petito missing person case is not related to the double-homicide case involving Crystal Turner and Kylen Schulte."
