LAPLACE, La. (TCD) -- A Louisiana man was arrested on his wedding night for allegedly shooting two people in highway traffic after an argument in a limousine Saturday night in the New Orleans metropolitan area.
A multi-vehicle collision shut down traffic on Interstate 10/Bonnet Carre Spillway at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 31.
Jones’s bride reportedly ran from the limo and flagged down a nearby ambulance. L’Obervateur reports she barricaded herself inside the ambulance while Jones allegedly tried to forcibly enter the vehicle.
An off-duty St. John sheriff’s deputy, also stuck in the same traffic, got out of his vehicle about a mile away, and was the primary officer in arresting Devin Jones, according to the sheriff’s office, WGNO-TV reports.
The friend of the bride’s was hospitalized in stable condition; the second victim was treated and released from a hospital.
