Deputies responded to a shots fired call at 3:30 a.m. on May 8 where they found the victim, Jason Baglio. He later died from his gunshot wounds.
Authorities identified 28-year-old Trace Pigott as the alleged shooter, though he allegedly fled the scene before authorities arrived.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said in their statement Trace was arrested in New Orleans and also identified Trace's father, Tommy Ray Pigott, as another suspect. Tommy Ray was later apprehended by New Orleans Police officers.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Trace and Tommy Ray were held in the Orleans Parish Prison on "various charges" and will be moved to Livingston Parish for processing. Trace will reportedly be charged with second-degree murder, while Tommy Ray reportedly faces charges of principal to second-degree murder.
WBRZ-TV reports Baglio, who went by the stage name "Jayson Alfano," was a well-known local Elvis impersonator. Baglio was also Trace's stepfather, according to WBRZ. Baglio performed in many local festivals, and according to The Advocate, he was also the head chef for the Livingston Council on Aging.
