Conn. man convicted of orchestrating failed murder-for-hire plot against ex, her new boyfriend

NEW LONDON, Conn. (TCD) -- A 30-year-old man has been convicted of charges related to a 2019 shooting in which he wanted his ex and her new boyfriend killed.
State’s Attorney for the New London Judicial District Paul Narducci announced Feb. 20 that a jury found Shaquan Lee-Seales guilty of 10 charges, including two counts of conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of accessory to attempted murder, risk of injury, and inciting injury to persons.
According to the state's attorney's office, prosecutors argued that on Nov. 24, 2019, Bless Seales, Sakye Reels, and Kion Wilbur were walking near Third Avenue with their faces covered when one of them went up to a building at 168 Third Ave. The person "suddenly turned and ran, and a surveillance camera depicted a crack in the second floor street-side window."
The New London Police Department received a report of a shot fired into the building. Officers responded to the residence and observed a broken window, as well as a "projectile resting on a closet shelf," the state's attorney's office said.
Lee-Seales was already in prison for an unrelated case. Investigators reviewed phone conversations and written correspondence from the man, showing that he had "orchestrated the shooting in an attempt to kill his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend," according to the state's attorney's office.
Lee-Seales' sentencing is set for April 20.
