Oregon man arrested after missing fiancée is found dead in crashed car stuck in the snow

PORTLAND, Ore. (TCD) -- A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after his missing fiancée was found dead inside her car, which was abandoned in a pile of snow.
Forty-seven-year-old Jeannie Enyeart was reported missing and endangered to the Portland Police Bureau after she was last seen by neighbors on Jan. 27. Two days later, Skamania County officials located her car, which had been crashed. Police said the car was unoccupied and there was reason to be concerned about her well-being.
The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office said Enyeart’s vehicle was trapped in a snow berm. They worked alongside the Portland Police Bureau and searched the area around the crash for Enyeart. Investigators later located her body inside the car.
According to Portland Police, the medical examiner determined Enyeart died from homicidal violence. Detectives took her fiancé, Jon French, into custody on charges of second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse.
Court documents cited by KOIN-TV report Enyeart’s body was underneath a blanket. Some of French’s belongings, including his wallet, were reportedly on the driver’s side floor.
Enyeart’s relatives told KOIN she and French broke up not long before she disappeared and she was getting ready to move out. While she was missing, French reportedly posted statuses on Facebook that included, "Please help find my soon to be wife," and "Heading over to the house to talk to the detective and hand them my phones. Please come home."
