SAGINAW, Texas (TCD) -- Police arrested a 32-year-old man this week on suspicion of killing a 46-year-old woman and telling authorities she shot herself.
On Monday, July 24, at approximately 10 p.m., the Saginaw Police Department responded to a home on the 200 block of Lottie Lane to a report of a woman with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. At the scene, officers discovered Kimberly Knapp on the bed with a gunshot wound to her upper chest.
Officers attempted lifesaving measures by applying pressure to the wound before Medstar personnel rushed Knapp to John Peter Smith Hospital via ambulance, where she died from her injuries.
According to police, 32-year-old Rance Magby was also in the home. KDFW-TV reports that Magby, who was romantically involved with Knapp, called police to report the gunshot wound and suggested Knapp had killed herself. However, upon further investigation, police identified Magby as the primary suspect in Knapp's shooting death.
