Fayetteville Police pursued the vehicle from Fayette County into Clayton County, where the suspect, Cameron Ja’Michael Hopkins, turned into a Lovejoy High School driveway. Police said they performed a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver to stop the vehicle.
According to police, officers heard gunfire coming from the Camaro, and multiple bullets struck a police car.
Fayette County deputies reportedly used a chemical irritant to force Hopkins out of his vehicle. He eventually exited the Camaro, and police took him into custody.
