Missing Arkansas teen found dead in stolen and burned truck

ARKANSAS COUNTY, Ark. (TCD) -- Officials positively identified the remains of a male found deceased inside a stolen truck as a missing 18-year-old high school student.
According to the Arkansas County Sheriff’s Office, on May 4 at approximately 5 p.m., deputies discovered a body in a burned Ford F-250 pickup truck on Hartz Seed Road outside of Stuttgart. Detectives arrived at the scene to take over the investigation as the body went to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to be identified.
On Thursday, May 11, the Arkansas County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was identified as Johnny Howard, who was reported missing out of Stuttgart the same day deputies located the car, which was stolen May 2.
The Stuttgart Daily Reader reports Howard was a junior at Stuttgart High School.
Howard’s cause of death was not revealed and the investigation remains ongoing.
