Due to the nature and severity of the woman’s injuries, police were not able to positively identify the victim, but police said they have a good idea who she might be.
Upon further investigation, the suspect was reportedly identified as Adam Conner. Conner, his mother, and the victim all lived together in the same home, KOMU reports, and the mother was the one who reported the victim missing.
Conner allegedly told his mother to stay out of the garage because of a raccoon. He reportedly prevented entry into the garage by barricading the door with a chair and a 40-pound bag of bird feed blocking a closet door within the garage.
According to court documents obtained by KOMU, the victim wore a medical alarm and it sent out multiple alerts on Saturday, Oct. 8. Firefighters reportedly responded to the home, and Conner told them the victim was in the hospital.
Conner was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence, according to police.
On Wednesday, Oct. 12, Conner was denied bond, KOMU reports. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 10, records show.
