WEST COVINA, Calif. (TCD) -- A 33-year-old former church employee was arrested following a several months-long child sexual exploitation investigation.
According to a news release from the West Covina Police Department, on Aug. 3, Andrew Williams was arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material/child pornography. The investigation was reportedly conducted by several agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service and the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Investigators allegedly found over 600 images of child pornography in Williams’ possession, KNBC-TV reports.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office secured a felony filing on Williams’ charges on Aug. 5, according to police.
Because Williams used to work at a church, police said detectives believe there may be more potential victims. Police have asked anyone with information that might assist in the investigation to come forward.
Most recently, Williams worked in San Dimas and had previously lived in Costa Mesa, KTTV-TV reports.
