Police said investigators learned Terry and Bell left a Montgomery Highway motel on July 8. Authorities initially believed the two left the motel on their own free will, but a "lookout" was reportedly issued.
Nearly three weeks later, on July 28, police said investigators responded to Long Round Bay Road in Bonifay, Florida, where a search warrant was executed.
Upon further search of the property, and with the help of cadaver dogs, investigators reportedly found the human remains of two individuals. According to police, it is believed the remains belong to Terry and Bell.
Forensic testing will reportedly be completed by Florida Department of Law Enforcement to positively identify the couple.
Police said a search warrant was also executed in the 600 block of Dutch Street in Dothan, Alabama, to find further evidence linked to the incident.
Police identified Sheena Thurman as a person of interest, and she was charged with one count of murder in Dothan, Alabama, and one count of open murder in Holmes County, Florida. Investigators reportedly believe one of the victims was killed in Alabama, and the other may have been killed at the Long Round Bay Road location in Florida.
According to police, other persons of interest have been identified, but their names were not disclosed. The investigation remains ongoing.
