SACRAMENTO, Calif. (TCD) -- Scott Peterson, who was convicted in 2004 for killing his wife Laci Peterson and their unborn child, was resentenced to life without the possibility of parole Wednesday.
According to NBC News, a California judge sentenced Peterson to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing Laci and 15 years to life for the killing of their unborn son Conner. He was moved to a jail in San Mateo County ahead of the sentencing, KCRA-TV reports.
Peterson was sentenced to life in prison in March 2005 and had been in custody at San Quentin State Prison, according to The Associated Press. That penitentiary in Marin County houses the state's death row.
CNN reports Laci went missing around Christmas 2002. Prosecutors in the case alleged during the trial that Scott killed Laci in Modesto and dumped her body in the San Francisco Bay. Her body and the baby's body washed ashore separately in April 2003.
Laci's mother Sharon Rocha said to Scott in court before the sentencing, "I've seen no sorrow or no remorse from you at all. I know you're going to say you have no remorse because you're innocent, but you haven't shown any grief or sorrow for either of them. I still feel the grief every day after 19 years."
