Florida jogger finds human head in St. Petersburg 07/07/2020 3:39 pm PDT Comments WTSP / St. Petersburg Police via WTSP: ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WTSP) -- St. Petersburg Police are investigating after a human head was found on the side of the road. Police said a jogger called detectives around 7 a.m. after finding the remains near the intersection of 38th Avenue S and 31st Street S. Homicide detectives were called to the scene. The Tampa Bay Times reports the head was too decomposed for investigators to determine the person's gender or race, said police spokeswoman Yolanda Fernandez. The head will be turned over to the Medical Examiner Office's for further investigation. Homicide detectives were combing the area for more human remains and other clues, Fernandez said.
