SEATTLE (KCPQ) -- Authorities say a man drove a car at George Floyd protesters in Seattle Sunday night, hit a barricade then exited the vehicle brandishing a pistol. At least one person was injured.
According to Seattle police, the black car drove into an area where protesters were gathered at 11th Ave. and Pine St.
The Seattle Times reports the shooting occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. The shooting apparently happened while the gunman was still in the car. He then got out of his car, gun in hand, and made his way through demonstrators toward a line of police before he was taken into custody.
A 27-year-old man was shot and taken in stable condition to a nearby hospital, according to the Seattle Fire Dept. Police later said the suspect was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered.
The victim was reportedly undergoing surgery Monday morning for a fracture to his right arm from a gunshot wound.
