SALT LAKE CITY (KSTU) -- The family of a man who was hit by a car on Sunday night in Salt Lake City says he was also a hit-and-run victim roughly three years ago.
32-year-old Johnny Duran was hit by a car at 1300 South and State Street just after 9 p.m. Sunday.
According to Salt Lake City Police, a car ran a red light, hit another car in the intersection and then struck Duran before driving off.
“He said when he looked up he didn’t have not even a chance," said Gilberto Martinez, Duran's father.
“Nothing’s that important to take somebody out like that.”
Duran's mother told FOX 13 that he had been walking back from getting something to eat. Three years ago, Duran was hit by a car near Edison Elementary. She said that the suspect in the incident was never located.
