LAYTON, Utah (KSTU) -- Layton Police arrested 28-year-old Mariah Butler Wednesday in connection with a child pornography investigation. Butler faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Butler is accused of possessing "numerous videos and images of child rape, described as prepubescent age children including infants and toddlers, who were being sexually abused by adults and other children," the statement said.

Police said Butler admitted to viewing and downloading child pornography.

FBI officials told Layton Police that Butler had been using a social media application commonly used for sexually exploiting children, the statement said.
