5th DUI for Nashville man who crashed after 'passing out' from heroin with kids in car

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- (WZTV) -- A 31-year-old Nashville man was arrested on Saturday after passing out from doing heroin and crashing his vehicle while two children were inside.
According to the arrest affidavit for Shylo Parl, police say Parl crashed into a parked vehicle and told officers he passed out after "doing a tenth of heroin" according to the report. As Parl spoke with police, they noticed the odor of alcohol on his breath and Parl stated he took two shots of vodka.
Inside the car were two children, ages 5 and 1. Police said this was Parl's fifth arrest for DUI with Parl having four previous convictions dating back to 2005. The latest conviction took place in June 2018.
