Louisiana sheriff's deputy and volunteer fireman arrested on child pornography charges

HOUMA, La. (WGNO) -- A Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office deputy and a Thibodaux Fire Department volunteer firefighter have both been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Deputy Phillip Guidry, 35, was arrested at his home in Houma after an investigation by the Louisiana Office of the Attorney General and by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office. Guidry had been on the police force for eight years, where he spent most of his time as a patrol deputy, according to the LPSO.
Guidry was charged with 20 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of 13.
Thibodaux Fire Department volunteer firefighter William Michael Chiasson, 47, was arrested the same morning as Guidry and faces 60 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of 13.
Authorities said Wednesday the two arrests were not connected, the Houma Courier reports.
