'Incomprehensible cruelty': Ohio dad accused of fatally shooting 3 sons execution-style in yard

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (TCD) -- A 32-year-old father is being charged in what prosecutors are calling "an act of incomprehensible cruelty" after he allegedly shot and killed his three young sons in the yard of his home.

On Thursday, June 15, at 4:15 p.m., a woman called the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office and said her "babies had been shot." Three minutes later, someone driving down the street contacted 911 to report seeing a girl "running down the road stating that her 'father was killing everyone.'"

Deputies went to a residence on the 1900 block of Laurel Lindale Road and found Chad Doerman sitting outside along with three unresponsive male juveniles in the yard suffering from gunshot wounds. The responding deputies attempted lifesaving measures until EMS arrived, but the children did not survive their injuries.

Officials also located a 34-year-old woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her hand and took her to a hospital.

The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office said the victims were 3, 4, and 7 years old.

In a subsequent news release, the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office announced Doerman was arrested on three counts of aggravated murder.

According to WLWT-TV, Clermont County prosecutor David Gast said in court Doerman "lined up his three young boys and executed them in his own home with a rifle."

Gast said one of the boys escaped, but Doerman "hunted that boy down, brought him back to the property, and executed him in front of witnesses."

Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Tekulve added, "I’ve been a lawyer 35 years. This is by far the most sickening, horrifying crime I have seen. I can only imagine the terror these little boys felt and experienced."

Doerman is being held on $20 million bond.

He could face additional charges because the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office will present the case to a grand jury.
