This week on True Crime Daily The Podcast: A Connecticut woman is reported dead by a man who appears to have spent the night with her in December. Police never alerted the woman’s family, who learned of her death from a note left on her door. Now her autopsy report is spurring more questions on how the case is being handled. And a Florida man allegedly attacked a jogger in his neighborhood using a rubber mallet, a bathrobe belt and a can of body spray, with the intent of keeping the man’s body in his closet for his own purposes, according to authorities. The jogger fought back. Criminal defense attorney Alison Triessl joins host Ana Garcia.
Tioni Theus, 16, was found dead, shot in the neck, on Jan. 8, near a Los Angeles freeway off-ramp. The day before she was found, she reportedly went to meet an “Instagram friend” at a party. The L.A. County D.A. says there may be evidence she was a victim of human-trafficking.
An Ohio woman is suspected of shooting her husband multiple times and burying his body under bags of cement in her home. Heidi Grant allegedly went to a friend’s house to borrow a gun. She allegedly used 11 bags to cover her husband’s body in the basement.
A 17-year-old male has been arrested for allegedly shooting the husband of a former Miss Mississippi pageant winner days before the couple’s wedding anniversary. The couple’s 2-year-old son was reportedly present at the scene of the shooting.
A Missouri man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing his wife and leaving her body in a storage unit freezer for years. Facility employees reportedly found the woman’s body because Larry Dinwiddie was behind on his payments and the freezer shut off.
The Grand County, Utah Sheriff’s Office announced updates in the case of Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner, newlyweds who were found dead at a campsite in the La Sal Mountains. Officials say they have “persons of interest” but have not identified a suspect.
