A suspect is in custody for the stabbing murder of 24-year-old Brianna Kupfer, a design consultant for a luxury furniture store. Police say Kupfer was working at the store alone when she texted a friend that someone in the store gave her a “bad vibe.” A customer later found her body.
A 19-year-old Colorado man pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the killing and decapitation of a 69-year-old homeless man found in the suspect’s closet. Brian Cohee II reportedly told detectives he had been thinking about killing someone for months.
Ahreal Smith was last seen finishing her shift at a Virginia convenience store on the night of Jan. 12, when she took trash to a dumpster outside the building that was out of a surveillance camera’s view. The day shift employee found her car still running the next day.
Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation agents reportedly found several cremated remains in a church that is part of an ongoing investigation into a minister who allegedly provided unlicensed funeral services. Agents found 89 boxes of “cremains,” some from as far back as 2010.
A Georgia pastor and his wife are accused of running an illegal group home and holding disabled patients against their will. As many as eight disabled patients were found living in the basement of the home, “locked in at certain times by the caretakers.”
