A missing 6-year-old girl’s adoptive parents were arrested in Honolulu on Wednesday, two months after reporting her missing. Police believe the girl was murdered in August, but she has not been found. The cause of her death remains under investigation.
Three suspects were in custody and others remained at large in connection to the suspected abduction, torture, and murder of a missing 22-year-old woman whose body was found Tuesday in the basement of a burned-out abandoned home in Cleveland.
The remains of two girls found in a backyard in Pennsylvania have been identified. Police say the girls, 6 and 4, died or were killed and buried in 2016 and 2017, respectively. The girls’ mother and her partner were arrested for child endangerment, and obstruction.
A Tennessee jury took 17 minutes to convict a woman of killing her husband in 2016. The man’s body was found hidden in a crawlspace in their attic. The couple’s 11-year-old son had called his father’s cellphone and heard it ringing from inside a wall.
A Missouri man suspected of killing six people faces local and federal charges. The FBI said Perez Reed was taken into custody at a train stop in Independence while traveling to St. Louis from Kansas City, allegedly in possession of the gun used at each crime scene.
