New York real estate heir Robert Durst was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without parole for the murder of Susan Berman. Durst was convicted in Los Angeles of first-degree murder in September for shooting Berman in the back of the head at her home in December 2000.
The Teton County Coroner’s Office in Wyoming announced Gabrielle Petito’s cause of death this week: Petito was strangled, and the manner of her death is officially classified as homicide. Her body was found on Sept. 19, but her time of death is estimated to be three to four weeks earlier.
An 88-year-old Virginia woman was found dead in her Danville home, “hands tied behind her back, feet tied together and the bounds were connected in between,” with her head wrapped in a plastic bag. The woman’s granddaughter and the granddaughter’s boyfriend are charged with murder.
A California woman was arrested for allegedly using money from a $4.9-million police settlement in the death of her son to allegedly traffic guns for a street gang. She’s one of 14 people arrested in the case, including two teens ages 13 and 14.
