The victims were 38-year-old John Sisk, 35-year-old Mary Sisk, 6-year-old Kane, 5-year-old Rorrie, and 6-month-old Colson. They all died from a gunshot wound to the head.
On Sept. 2, 2019, at around 11 p.m., Limestone County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a residence on Ridge Road in Elkmont and spoke with Mason Sisk, who said he "had been in the basement when he heard shots upstairs." He told deputies he "ran upstairs and heard footsteps, then went out the door."
Deputies, however, noticed "discrepancies in his statements," so they took him to the station, where he confessed. Sisk showed deputies where he threw the 9 mm gun after the shooting. The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said the firearm was "in the home illegally."
