BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (TCD) -- A 36-year-old man was arrested on several charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted an underage girl and beat a woman earlier this month.
According to the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, on the morning of March 10, deputies went to David Scott Perez's home for a domestic dispute between Perez and an adult female. The two reportedly got into an altercation over allegations that he sexually abused an 11-year-old girl. Perez and the woman were taken to local hospitals for treatment for their injuries sustained during the fight.
The adult female told deputies Perez allegedly "physically assaulted her with his fists, choked her, and prevented her from calling for emergency assistance."
Her injuries reportedly reflected her statement.
Perez was arrested on charges of domestic violence assault, domestic violence strangulation, and inference with a domestic violence emergency call.
Deputies also spoke with the 11-year-old, who allegedly told investigators Perez "had sexual intercourse and other sexual contact with her." Following that interview, he was charged with first-degree rape and sexual abuse of a child under 12 years of age.
