There were multiple witnesses, including adults and a minor under 16, WTVT-TV reports.
Mason reportedly knew the owner of the goldendoodle and was taking the canine out for a walk prior to performing sexual acts on it.
Mason was allegedly confronted by one of the witnesses, and he "began to wreak havoc in the surrounding areas."
According to police, Mason went into a church and "knocked over a nativity display and broke several potted plants." In total, Mason reportedly caused $400 in damages to the church.
Mason also allegedly ruined a mailbox and tried to steal a vehicle.
Police said Mason was eventually taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including sexual activity involving animals, two counts of lewd or lascivious exhibition, two counts of exposure of sexual organs, criminal mischief, and criminal mischief to a place of worship. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
