New Mexico judge and her pets reportedly shot and killed by ex-husband in murder-suicide

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (TCD) -- A 63-year-old man allegedly fatally shot his 65-year-old ex-wife and her pets before turning the gun on himself.
According to a news release from the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, on Friday, Nov. 25, deputies responded to the 800 block of Ranchitos Road and reportedly found the two deceased victims, Diane Albert and Eric Pinkerton.
The Sheriff's Office said, "A friend of the decedents contacted deputies after receiving a troubling message from Eric Pinkerton."
In a tape obtained by KOAT-TV, someone in dispatch said, "He left a voicemail to his friend stating that he murdered his wife and his dogs and his cat. And he is about to murder himself."
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies located several dead animals.
Albert was elected municipal judge of the village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque in 2021, the Santa Fe New Mexican reports. She reportedly worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory for 10 years and served on the Los Alamos County Council for a few years. In 2002, Albert was a recipient of "The New Mexican’s 10 Who Made a Difference" award.
