PLACER COUNTY, Calif. (TCD) -- Officials are investigating a possible abduction after a 16-year-old girl went missing following a party with over 100 people over the weekend.
According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, Kiely Rodni was last seen Aug. 6 at 12:30 a.m. near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California, near Lake Tahoe at a party with "more than 100 juveniles and young adults." Deputies believe she could have been abducted because her car, a 2013 Honda CR-V, is also missing and her phone has been out of service since that night.
Officials described Rodni as a 5-foot-7 white female with blonde hair and hazel eyes.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office is working with several other law enforcement agencies in the search for Rodni. On Monday, Aug. 8, the Sheriff's Office said investigators would be using a Falcon 30 helicopter to search for her around Prosser Lake, the Nevada State Line, and Donner Summit.
On Aug. 7, Rodni's mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, pleaded for her daughter to come home in a video shared on the Placer County Sheriff's Office page.
"We just want her home. We're just so scared and miss her so much," Rodni-Nieman said.
KTXL-TV reports Rodni attended a Senior Farewell Party that night. She reportedly texted her mom at 11:30 p.m. to tell her she would be leaving by 12:15 a.m. to come home.
Rodni-Nieman told KTXL, "I asked her to wake me up when she got in. That was always kind of what we did. And she said, 'OK, mama. Love you.'"
That was reportedly the last communication they had.
Rodin's family launched a website with tip line phone numbers and other information regarding her disappearance.
The Senior Farewell Party was reportedly supposed to only be for students in the Truckee Tahoe region, but one of Rodni's close friends said people from other areas came in and it "grew to be way, way larger than ever expected."
