WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (TCD) -- A 37-year-old man was arrested this week after allegedly punching his girlfriend and their child.
According to a press release from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, March 11, deputies responded to 5710 Oakhill Ave. NE at approximately 12 a.m. to a report of domestic violence.
At the scene, a 31-year-old female victim reportedly told authorities she had been punched multiple times by Arlie David Henthorn, her live-in boyfriend. He also allegedly punched their 4-year-old daughter, which caused an injury to her face.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the female victim and child escaped to a bedroom in the residence and Henthorn started to fire a gun toward them. The victims reportedly escaped the home and left via car before meeting with deputies. The woman and child were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, the Sheriff’s Office says.
Upon deputies’ arrival, Henthorn reportedly fired the gun in the living room. According to the Sheriff’s Office, he extinguished a fire and eventually "surrendered to deputies without further incident."
Henthorn was reportedly arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail. The Sheriff’s Office says he was charged with one count of aggravated arson, two counts of domestic violence, one count of using weapons while intoxicated, one count of felonious assault, one count of endangering children, and one count of improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation.
