Florida sex offender allegedly recorded teen undressing and sent nudes to another

BARTOW, Fla. (TCD) -- A 46-year-old registered sex offender was arrested this week for allegedly contacting two teen girls.

According to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation was launched regarding a report that Robert Scott sent two sexually explicit photos of himself to a female teen victim via phone. He had reportedly known the teen since September 2021.

The Sheriff’s Office said Scott recorded another female teen victim undressing through her bedroom window. Scott reportedly told that same victim he wanted to have sex with her and showed her pornographic media from his cell phone. Upon further investigation and interviews, Scott eventually admitted that he was guilty of the crimes and knew how old the teen girls were, the Sheriff’s Office said.

In addition to the illegal contact, Scott failed to report a car belonging to him, a new phone number, and a new Facebook account, which were all required of him to do as a registered sex offender.

Scott had been classified as a sexual offender from a 2003 "conviction for Lewd or Lascivious Batter on a Victim 12-15 Years Old," the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

On Monday, Dec. 6, Scott was arrested and charged with video voyeurism of a child under 16, lewd/lascivious conduct, use of communication device to commit felony, transmit material harmful to a minor, and sex offender failure to register.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a news release, "A leopard can’t change its spots…and it’s obvious Robert Scott hasn’t changed his deviant ways. He is the kind of person we don’t want to be near children. Hopefully, he’ll be held accountable and sent to prison where he won’t be able to victimize children. He obviously did not learn anything from his first conviction and placement on the sexual offender registry."
