A resident on 168th Street in Jamaica, Queens, a borough of New York City, reportedly received a credit card statement with an $8,000 charge to Long Island Plastic Surgery sometime between August and September 2019. He called the bank and informed them he neither received the card nor did he authorize the charge.
The card she gave on August 17 linked to her personal credit union account, the D.A.'s Office said, but when she paid the balance for the procedure on August 30, she allegedly used the stolen card. Small had the surgery September 3, 2019.
Shakera Small was charged with identity theft and grand larceny, among other charges. If convicted, she faces up to seven years in prison.
The New York Post reports Small told investigators she regularly stole envelopes she knew had credit cards in them and handed them over to a man named "Rizzo," court papers allege. In exchange, Rizzo obtained the fake ID to help her undergo the breast lift, the Post reports.
