She said she was attacked from behind, and felt the tip of a sharp object on her back during the attack. Police said the suspect was later determined to have used a screwdriver in the attack.
Later, Manuel Blanquet, 37, allegedly broke into his ex-wife’s residence on the 9200 block of Cypress Ave., approximately half a mile from the reported rape on Randall. Inside his ex-wife’s residence, Blanquet reportedly washed blood off of his clothing. The clothing was later matched to the description of what the rapist was wearing in the Randall Ave. attack, police said.
Police said Blanquet was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for forcible rape against a juvenile family member in 2017. Blanquet was charged in that case, and was charged in the Randall Ave. rape.
Police said Blanquet had a binder in his possession when he was arrested. The binder reportedly contained “numerous written pages talking about his fantasies about rape,” Fontana Police said.
