Police arrested "Empire" actor Bryshere Gray early Monday on domestic-violence charges after an hours-long standoff overnight.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (TCD) -- Police arrested "Empire" actor Bryshere Gray early Monday on domestic-violence charges after an hours-long standoff overnight.

Goodyear Police said officers responded to a 911 caller reporting a domestic violence incident from a Circle K convenience store at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday.

The woman said she had been assaulted at her Goodyear residence by her husband, who she identified as Bryshere Gray. Gray is an actor on the TV series "Empire." Police said the woman was hospitalized, treated and released for unspecified injuries.

Officers went to the couple's residence located on S. 176th Lane, but Goodyear Police said Gray refused to come outside. SWAT personnel and Crisis Negotiations were called out to assist, and just after 7 a.m. Monday, Gray was taken into custody without incident.

Gray was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on domestic violence charges.
