CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WPIX) -- The NYPD said a teenage boy was shot and killed on a Brooklyn street Tuesday afternoon. Police sources say the same boy was involved in a March group assault on a teen girl in the same neighborhood.
According to authorities, cops responding to a 911 call for a shooting discovered a 16-year-old boy shot in the abdomen, laying along Saint Johns Place, between Utica and Rochester avenues, in the Crown Heights neighborhood. EMS rushed the boy to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The NYPD identified the victim as Tyquan Howard. Police sources told PIX11 that the teen had been linked to a vicious group beating and robbery of a 15-year-old girl in early March. It is not clear if the two incidents are related.
