NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. (KTXL) -- Deputies arrested a 34-year-old California man Thursday for homicide after he called the sheriff's office to report he hit his grandfather with a baseball bat.
Around 5 p.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from a man now identified as Frank Swanson, who claimed he had struck his grandfather with a baseball bat. Swanson said his grandfather was already dead.
Deputies found a 78-year-old man with trauma to his body. They attempted life-saving measures before he was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Deputies arrested Swanson on a homicide charge, and he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
