Washington man gets 20 years for raping special-needs child 03/01/2020 11:50 am PST Comments Clallam County / Peninsula Daily News via KCPQ: PORT ANGELES, Wash. (KCPQ) -- A 42-year-old northwestern Washington man who raped a 12-year-old girl who suffers from a mental disorder has been sentenced to 20 years and five months in prison. The Peninsula Daily News reported Thursday that Byron G. Midkiff received the sentence in Clallam County Superior Court. Midkiff pleaded guilty in January to two counts of second-degree rape of a child with domestic violence and two counts of second-degree child molestation with domestic violence. Clallam County Superior Court Judge Lauren Erickson imposed the 245-month sentence despite a recommended sentence of 210 months, the Daily News reports. The child told deputies that Midkiff had been touching her sexually since she was 6. The victim did not attend the sentencing hearing. The judge said she was “stunned” by Midkiff's statements to law enforcement that the girl had acted sexually aggressive towards him and that he “knew it was wrong but he didn't know how to stop her.” MORE: Port Angeles man sentenced to 20 years in prison for child rape - Peninsula Daily News Western Washington man gets 20 years for raping child - KCPQ #ChildMolestation #ChildRape #DomesticViolence #KCPQ #Seattle #Sentencing #Washington Related Stories Relatives charged after 11-year-old girl gives birth in bathtub Arkansas man arrested for alleged rape of young relative, threats Utah woman arrested: disturbing pics of children with adults found: police N.C. man charged with statutory rape of child under the age of 15 Arkansas man gets 30 years for rape of 3-year-old child California man gets 1,015 years on 41 counts of child molestation Waiting for your permission to load facebook comments.
