Arrest made in unsolved murder of Mass. State Police colonel's sister

BOSTON -- (WBZ) -- An arrest has been made in the unsolved murder of Tracy Gilpin, the sister of Massachusetts State Police Colonel Kerry Gilpin.
The Kingston teen went missing on October 1, 1986, she was found dead 21 days later. She was 15 years old.
Mass. State Police said Michael Hand, 61, of Troutman, N.C., was arrested on Saturday night in North Carolina.
Hand is expected to appear in court on Monday and then the process to bring him to Massachusetts will begin.
Tracy left a party in Kingston, Massachusetts to buy cigarettes but never returned, according to Channel 9's sister station, Boston 25 News. Several weeks later, a woman walking her dog spotted Tracy's body. The medical examiner ruled that Tracy died from a massive skull fracture.
Tracy was the sister of Kerry Gilpin, who is now a Massachusetts State Police Colonel.
