COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. -- (WZTV) -- UPDATE: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the reported sighting of AMBER Alert teen Mary Catherine Elizabeth Thomas and suspect Tad Cummins was not confirmed. TBI spokesman Josh DeVine said the reported sighing was not Thomas or Cummins.

There have been about 1,200 leads on Cummins' and Thomas' whereabouts so far, but none have been confirmed. Thomas, 15, and her former teacher Cummins, 50, have been missing for more than two weeks.

TBI has stressed that Thomas is in danger and the AMBER Alert is not a romance, but a kidnapping.

Anyone who sees Thomas or Cummins should call 911 immediately.

Law enforcement in Collierville issued a BOLO [Be On The Lookout] with information about a possible sighting of Thomas and Cummins. This sighting has not been confirmed, however, Fox 13 in Memphis reported that a deputy positively identified Cummins from surveillance video.

Shabana Mavani, an employee at the Shell station where the sighting possibly occurred, told Fox 7 News police came to the store and showed them a picture of Cummins and Thomas. She didn't even know about them until police showed them photos and allegedly stated they had received a tip they were in the area.

Mavani says they both came into the store and purchased some items. Says "the man looked agitated and ready to leave" while the girl "seemed calm and comfortable."
