CLEVELAND, Ohio -- (WJW) -- It was judgment day for a once-respected Euclid High School guidance counselor, who admitted that she had a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student.
Ronetta Smith, 36, apologized for the crimes that cost her dearly-- her job, her reputation, and her freedom. "Looking back on it, I don't necessarily know if sorry is a strong enough word or term. I was negligent; I didn't do what I was supposed to do," she said.
Investigators said Smith began a relationship with the student in December 2015. She was suspended and later resigned after a school administrator alerted Euclid police about the allegations.
